The lower 1,750 RPM speed compared to the typical higher 3,450 RPM speed of other grinders means you have better control over the amount of metal being removed. It also means reduced heat build-up and bluing of the cutting edge being sharpened, which protects the hardness and temper of the tool. The 80-800VS Variable Speed Bench Grinder was designed for metalworking applications, but it is a practical addition to workshops for general metal cleaning, shaping, grinding and sharpening jobs. Its features include a 3/4HP variable speed motor with a 2,000 - 3,400 RPM range of speed; easy-to-read front dial speed control; safety on/off switch; an 8" wire wheel; and an 8" x 1" grinding wheel. Also included are a pull-out water tray for cooling work pieces, a powerful LED gooseneck light, grinding wheel dresser and wrenches. RIKON's bench grinders are wired for use with 3-wire 120V electrical receptacles. Comes with a 5-year manufacturer's warranty against defect in materials and manufacturing.
